Getting Around in Portland

Public transport

The MAX Light Rail is cheap, clean and goes to all major areas of interest in the city. The ride from Portland International Airport to the downtown area is only ten minutes. The TriMet bus and Portland Streetcar also extensively cover the Portland area. A 7-day pass for MAX, the TriMet bus, and the Portland Streetcar ranges from $17-$20; single fare is $2.05. Tickets for all public transportation can be purchased from MAX stations or from http://trimet.org/store/index.htm.

Car

Attendees of the CRLC can use the following group discount number for Hertz rentals: CV# 049C0001. This allows you to save approximately $30 for a weekly rental.

Walking

Much of downtown Portland is accessible on foot. Voted one of “America’s Best Walking Towns,” a visitor can easily explore the city without transport.
