For more than three decades the National Consumer Law Center has been working
to balance the consumer’s side of the scales of justice. We help vulnerable
consumers and their lawyers fight on issues where they’re often outgunned
– like they are in theincreasingly unrestrained abuse of service people
and veterans bythe array of economic scams outlined in our report. But that's
not all. As you can see from our website, we cover an amazing amount of territory.
We’ve often been the only voice in Washington and state capitals speaking
for low-income consumers.
The first thing you can do is to make sure people in your community see this
report and act on its recommendations. More people need to blow the whistle
on these businesses and refer them to military and civilian lawyers. People
also need to speak up about changing the laws and lack of enforcement that allow
these businesses to flourish.
We’re non-profit and non-partisan, but this work costs money. And there's
a lot more that still needs doing on behalf of the military, veterans and other
vulnerable consumers. So we need your support. Please take a moment to contribute
– large donations are especially welcome but so are small ones. Send a
check, give us permission to charge a gift to your credit card, or call our
development department at 617-542-8010 for information. You can send your gift
to National Consumer Law Center, 77 Summer Street, 10th Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
If you’re inclined to give, we’d very much appreciate
your doing so today--- so you won’t forget. Thanks!
