For more than three decades the National Consumer Law Center has been working to balance the consumer’s side of the scales of justice. We help vulnerable consumers and their lawyers fight on issues where they’re often outgunned – like the increasingly unrestrained abuse of consumers by the debt-collection industry.

We cover an amazing amount of territory with a small staff (read a brief description of what we do click here). We’ve often been the only voice in Washington and state capitals pushing for consumer-protection -- or sometimes more importantly for preventing powerful anti-consumer interests from gutting existing laws.
